Distance Learning Professional Development from TechLX

What does your summer plan for professional learning look like? Next month, the team at TechLX is hosting a special course for educators. This distance learning professional development opportunity starts next week and runs throughout August!

Professional Development for Teachers

This two-hour professional development training is hosted by TechLX. The focus is on “Succeeding with Remote Learning.” It takes place on August 6th from 1 PM to 3 PM PT, and the initial two-hour session will be followed up with weekly office hours and support through the next two weeks

After the initial kick-off event on August 6th, you’ll work with an instructor to create a remote learning lesson plan and activity for students. The course’s goal is to help educators become more comfortable with online teaching methods. This way they can try out the strategies they’ll need in a remote classroom setting.

Participants will learn about best practices for video conferencing platforms and how to incorporate SEL (social emotional learning) practices into distance learning.

The program will include video conferencing strategies so you can make the most of your synchronous learning experiences with students. Before getting started with your projects, you’ll learn about the differences between asynchronous and synchronous learning experiences.
