15 Science Projects for Book Creator Classrooms

15 Science Projects for Book Creator Classrooms is a free ebook I created for K-12 educators. It provides ideas for how to use Book Creator for science projects in your classroom. You can tailor the ideas to different grade levels and subtopics. I made this ebook using Book Creator, an ebook creation tool for schools available on Chrome and iOS (iPad app).

What will you find in this free ebook? It’s full of lesson ideas you can make your own! You’ll also find student work exemplars and classroom stories from my experiences and classroom visits. In this post, I share some of the highlights of the book, including three favorite activities.

Science Projects for Book Creator Classrooms

15 Science Projects for Book Creator Classrooms includes 15 project ideas with examples. I put together a quick preview of three projects you’ll see in the ebook. As you take a look at these examples, the rest of the ebook, I know you’ll find ideas that are scalable for your classroom. You can customize each one to your grade-level expectations or subject area specific standards.

Seasonal Spotlight

Spring, summer, fall, and winter… each season is unique! In an individual or collaborative, multi-page ebook, students can spotlight their favorite season or profile all four seasons and what makes them unique. Perfect for increasing science vocabulary and catering to students’ interests, a seasonal spotlight can be tailored to your science and ELA goals.

Healthy Habits

Healthy habits are essential in the lives of students both inside and outside of the classroom. If your students are studying how to live a healthy life, they can share what they’ve learned with the world in a Healthy Habits ebook. From tips for choosing fruits and vegetables to spotlights of easy-to-make recipes, there are so many possibilities!

Space Spotlights

It’s often hard for students (or adults!) to wrap their head around the size of our solar system. As students learn about space, they can create an ebook with a page for each planet. An interactive ebook is the perfect medium for students to combine high-quality images alongside their own research and driving questions.

Teacher Libraries in Book Creator

Combining Books in Book CreatorIf you decide to have your students create collaborative books, try setting up a Teacher Library. Creating a teacher library is super easy to do in the new Chrome-friendly version of Book Creator. Once students join your library, you can view all of their creations. After they each create a page or two to contribute to your class book, you can combine their creations. This strategy is perfect for short-term activities or when you want your class to publish a book together.
