Because Learning! Hands-on STEM Program with Kits, Curriculum & Teacher Guides

A few weeks ago I had the chance to chat with the team behind Because Learning! Media. They provide a hands-on STEM program for teachers and parents that includes standards-mapped curriculum, teacher guides, hands-on kits, and curated units. I love STEM resources for education that include a simple set up to get started and plenty of support materials so you can jump right in.

Hands-on STEM Program with Kits, Curriculum & Teacher Guides

The video below shows you everything that is including in the Because Learning! STEM program kit. All of the grade-level specific units from Because Learning! come with a unit introduction to give teachers and parents a brief overview of the concepts covered in each unit. You’ll also find lots of helpful video resources on their website.

Each of the lessons from Because Learning! can be customized to the needs of teachers and students. Their Learning Team can also build units for your classes if you’re looking for something in particular. Although they have over 100 ready-to-go lessons, I love the lesson on exploring magnetic fields by making a connection to sea turtles. You can find this lesson on their homepage with lots of other options to explore. The units were created to address local and national educational standards, including the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).

Because Learning! gives students the opportunity to explore concepts you would find in a textbook with hands-on activities in the real world. In addition to addressing multiple standards, these kits give students the chance to build, create and try out different science concepts as they apply what they’ve learned. They’ve had dozens of schools try out their lessons and you can sign up as a classroom teacher or with a subscription for your entire school.

Head over to Because Learning’s website to learn more about their sensor kit and engaging lessons for students!
