Ready for flipped professional learning? This summer, you can join the team at Hāpara for a special month of flipped professional development. They’ve set up a series of professional learning opportunities, including guest speakers, workshops, webinars, and self-paced professional learning opportunities for educators. It’s called Hipi-Palooza, and you’re invited!

If you’re familiar with the flipped classroom model, you might be able to guess what flipped professional development can look like for you. It’s professional learning on your schedule that you set the pace for this summer. Hāpara has created a space for online learning this summer that gives educators access to lots of resources.

In today’s blog post, I’ll jump into some highlights of this self-paced professional learning opportunity for educators.

Hāpara for Teaching and Learning

Have you used Hāpara in your classroom? Regular readers of the blog know that I’m a big fan of all things Hāpara. You might remember this recent post on the blog featuring ways that Hāpara can help you save time this school year. Or you might remember this post where I shared how Hāpara connects to your project-based learning goals for the school year.

Hāpara is a digital teaching and learning platform that provides a streamlined experience for teachers and students using Google Classroom. If you’re in a school where Google Classroom is your hub, then you’ll certainly want to check out Hāpara.

EdTech Tips for the New School Year

I am so honored to kick off this special summer learning event. My 20-minute presentation is full of quick tips and ideas for a smoother start to the school year. You’ll find many connections to Hāpara in my presentation so that you can make the most of this powerful platform.

Here is the official description:

Getting ready for the new school year? With so many ways to use technology in the classroom it can be hard to know where to start, what to embrace, and what to leave out of your lesson plans. This year prioritizing a few key practices can transform the way teaching and learning looks in your classroom, school and district. Join Monica Burns, Ed.D. for five must-try edech tips to make the most of technology this new school year.

Flipped Professional Learning

During the virtual keynote, I share some of my favorite tips alongside ways each one connects to Hāpara. For example, when I talk about sharing the school year with a wishlist, you’ll hear how you can create a Hāpara Workspace with your wishlist. Then you can add your ideas to cards. Maybe you saw an excellent TedTalk or Ted-Ed video about growth mindsets that you want to try to incorporate into your teaching this year. You can then add a link to the video in a Workspace Card.

Press play right on the event homepage to check out my 20-minute keynote presentation.

Learning More about Hāpara

On the Hipi-Palooza event landing page, you can also learn about Hāpara’s self-paced courses. These are part of the robust Hāpara Community for educators that is available to every Hāpara customer.

The team at Hāpara is also offering a two-week Hāpara Champion Educator “Power Dive” course. This course is another excellent option for Hāpara educators ready to dive into new strategies and refine their skills using Hāpara in the classroom.
