Earn Graduate Credit for Reading Professional Books

A very special opportunity came my way and I can’t wait to tell you all about it… This year there were over 150 people who joined my summer book clubs. It’s been so much fun listening into the Flipgrid videos and conversations around my books.

Whether you join a book club or like to read at your own pace, there is now an opportunity for anyone who wants to read my books, like Tasks Before Apps: Designing Rigorous Learning in a Tech-Rich Classroom to earn continuing education credit!

How does it work? I’ve teamed up with the folks at Liberty Leadership Development who grant professional learning credit (CEUs) to teachers who participate in online learning opportunities.

The credit is granted online through the University of Sioux Falls with instructor Dr. Randall G. Sampson. I had the chance to present with Randall at The Badge Summit in Chicago earlier this year. He is passionate about providing professional learning opportunities that are relevant and meaningful for teachers.

Earn Graduate Credit

If you would like to earn 1 (one) graduate credit for reading my book Tasks Before Apps (or another one of books), here’s what you have to do:

  • Click here to enroll in EDU_LLD.1 – Personalized PD I
  • Once you enroll, Randall will send along instructions on how to get started
  • As soon as you register, you’ll have 30 days to complete the work at your own pace
  • Instead of discussion forums or traditional assignments, all of your work can take place in spaces like Voxer, Twitter, Flipgrid, etc. – this can include any Flipgrid responses you’ve already completed and/or tweets you’ve sent about your reading. It’s your choice how you participate.

The course is $169 and you will earn one graduate credit from the University of Sioux Falls and Liberty Leadership Development as soon as you submit all your work. You can sit down and complete the work in one day or spread it out over the 30 days.

Professional Development Opportunity

So if you’re looking for professional development opportunities to (1) move up on the salary scale with extra credits, or (2) earn credits to apply to a graduate program now or in the future, this is a great opportunity to extend our book club!

I strongly believe in working smarter not harder, and applying what you’ve learned as a professional in spaces you already inhabit. Professional learning should be relevant and actionable, and I’m super excited to share this opportunity with you! If this is a good fit for you, I hope you’ll take a look!

This graphic shows some of the ways you can use digital tools to earn your credit in course!
