How Teachers Can Use AI to Save Time with Brisk Teaching

My mission for the past decade has been to help make EdTech easier for educators. So when I see a fantastic tool that can help teachers save time, I can’t keep quiet about it! There are many ways teachers can use AI to save time, and I’m excited to share Brisk Teaching with you.

If you’ve attended a workshop or webinar with me this year, you’ve probably heard me mention Brisk Teaching. It’s a free Google Chrome extension platform powered by artificial intelligence. And Brisk Teaching can help you save oodles of time over the course of the school week.

Today on the blog, we’ll look at Brisk Teaching and everything possible with this powerful tool for teaching and learning!

Teachers Can Use AI to Save Time

It can be hard to quantify the amount of time you can save with Brisk Teaching. But I’m confident that once you sign up and take a look, you might be able to save 5, 10, or more hours of planning time each week. From differentiating instruction for students to creating assessment materials, there are so many ways to use this platform to save time this school year.

There are 30+ tools built into Brisk Teaching. Let’s look at a few of my favorites!

Text Leveler Tool

With this tool, you can adjust the level of a text instantly. First, you download the Brisk Teaching Chrome extension. Then, a little button will pop up anytime you open an article on the web. You can decide on the level you want to transform the article into.

For example, you can find an article written at an eighth-grade level. When you press the “Brisk It” button you can change it to a fourth-grade reading level. With this tool, Brisk will open a Google Doc, include a link to the original article, and transform it into a version ready to share with your students!

AI Presentation Maker

Are you looking to share new information with students? The AI Presentation Maker tool is a perfect example of how teachers can use AI to save time! With this tool, you can create a Google Slides presentation based on content you have found online. This might include an article or a YouTube video. Or you can tell Brisk a bit about the presentation you want to make, to create something from scratch.

Communication Tools

Brisk Teaching gives educators many time-saving tools to tackle their communication tasks. You can use it to create personalized letters of recommendation or to make a newsletter customized to your school community. There is also a tool to help with emails to quickly and effectively respond to messages in your busy inbox. If family engagement is your goal this year, you’ll want to check out these tools.

Assessment Tools

In addition to the communication tools, text leveler, and presentation creator, Brisk Teaching has many ways to help you save time as you create formative assessments. The AI Quiz Maker is one of their most popular tools. It lets you create quizzes in Google Forms and Google Docs to share them with students easily. You’ll also find an AI Rubric Generator and tools to help give feedback on student work – an essential part of a formative assessment routine. Inspect Student Writing

The Inspect Student Writing tool is last but certainly not least, on the list of amazing things Brisk Teaching can do. I was blown away when I first saw this in action, and I’m sure you will be, too. As you can see in the video above, the Chrome extension uses a replay feature to follow a video playback of students’ writing process. Are concerned about how students might use AI in their work? This tool from Brisk Teaching lets you watch a video playback to see an entire student writing journey in their Google Doc, including any copy-and-paste actions you might want to chat with them about.

Brisk Teaching has been high on my list of favorite AI-powered EdTech tools to share this school year. I’ve featured their text leveler tool in my workshops when discussing supporting digital readers and differentiating instruction based on assessment data. But as you can see, there are dozens of tools built into Brisk Teaching.
