On-Demand Tutoring and Homework Help for Students

As we approach the end of the school year, there are many things to consider. From organizing resources from this past year to recommending resources to families, you might also have questions coming into your inbox about ways families can support their children as learners. Today’s blog post is all about on-demand tutoring and homework help for students. It also includes an opportunity for teachers to become involved behind the scenes, too.

Are you looking to recommend resources for families to explore this spring, summer, and throughout the upcoming school year? To help address the needs of students who need extra support or might have had instructional interruptions this year, there is an on-demand tutoring app you may want to explore.

In this blog post, I’ll share Wisdom Cafe and its homework help and on-demand tutoring resources for students and families.

On-Demand Tutoring

Wisdom Cafe provides on-demand tutoring to students in a variety of subject areas and grade levels. This on-demand tutoring might come into play for help over the summer. Or it could help students get ready for the next school year, and to review content from the previous school year review.

How does it work? Wisdom Cafe’s tutoring app lets students request sessions in real-time. Based on availability, they will match with a tutor who can help them. This could include working through math problems, or tackling a science concept. Or it might include reviewing an English Language Arts skill, or whatever they are working on that day. Families don’t have to worry about scheduling sessions ahead of time because Wisdom Cafe gives you access to on-demand tutoring.

This app uses facial recognition before each session to verify the educator who signs in. These precautions ensure that students are in a safe, educational learning environment, even in this type of remote setting. Each session is also recorded and stored for later use. This way students can access it later to review materials.

Some students might use Wisdom Cafe for weekly check-ins with a tutor. Others might use it as needed to help with homework or a specific assignment that requires extra support. The homework help for students and on-demand tutoring options can help ensure that students are prepared for anything. This could include preparation for the next day’s instruction or even an upcoming quiz or test.

Homework Help for Students

As a classroom teacher in New York City, I spent many afternoons supporting students as part of an after-school program. If there were an opportunity ten or fifteen years ago that would have let me supplement my income with tutoring virtually, I definitely would have taken advantage of it, too. So when the team at Wisdom Cafe mentioned there was an opportunity for teachers to provide homework help and on-demand tutoring, I knew I had to include it in this blog post, too.

Are you an educator who wants to work remotely with students through Wisdom Cafe’s platform? The work is certainly very flexible and you can customize it to your schedule. Teachers do not have to set specific days or hours on their schedule and can open up availability as needed. You can change your timezone if you are traveling to different locations, and there are no lesson plans to prepare. Wisdom Cafe works across all US time zones and state lines. Teachers have secure onboarding on the platform, and Wisdom Cafe uses Stripe to process the teacher payouts daily.
