I am so excited to announce the publication of my new book for ASCD! It’s titled, Tasks Before Apps: Designing Rigorous Learning in a Tech-Rich Classroom! This book has been in the works for quite some time and was inspired by the phrase I share with educators during school visits, workshops, conferences and keynotes around the world. When we place tasks before apps we keep learning goals front and center while making room to use digital tools to elevate and energize experiences for every student.

Designing Rigorous Learning in a Tech-Rich Classroom
Between content-hosting websites, video conferencing apps, grade- or subject-focused social media accounts, knowing how to navigate technology wisely is essential for both teachers and students. Whether you are a novice or a veteran, teach kindergarten students or high school seniors, this book is an indispensable guide to learn how to communicate effectively.
Teach your students to communicate on posts and message boards and locate credible information on search engines. Help them select efficient, cost-effective equipment furthering academic skills, social development, and digital aptitude in the classroom.
