This month I’ve visited a handful of elementary schools looking to use iPads and Chromebooks effectively in English Language Arts instruction. News-O-Matic has been one of my favorite iPad apps to share with elementary school teachers. I’m excited to announce that News-O-Matic news articles for kids is now available on new platforms. You can now access it on web browsers. This makes it perfect for Chromebook and laptop classrooms.

Students can now access NOM whether they use the app or open up a web browser. The web version of News-O-Matic is full of bright colors and interactive features for students at multiple reading levels. Teachers in BYOD (bring your own device) learning environments will certainly like this tool. Parents looking to boost student reading at home will also love the web version of News-O-Matic.
How might you use News-O-Matic in the classroom? This tool gives students lots of resources for their own independent reading. You might include this as an option for student readers.
