The team at Evolving Educators created a course to help you start using Twitter for professional learning. This course provides a handful of resources to help you jump into using social media. It’s a way to stay connected, learn from other professionals in the field and share your own story. It includes a variety of resources to help you learn how to make the most of this powerful social media platform.
When you head over to Participate’s website you’ll find this course from Evolving Educators in the Marketplace. This course includes a handful or resources. You’ll find (1) access to a supportive community of educators, (2) strategies for how to expand your personal learning network, and (3) a badge you’ll earn once you finish the course to show off your hard work. Once you finish this course you’ll be able to set up a Twitter account and start tweeting. You’ll also understand how other educators have used Twitter to share and learn, and link up with educational thought leaders and hashtags on Twitter.
Twitter is such an important platform for educators. You might start off by following a few organizations like @Edutopia or @Scholastic and then search for your favorite authors, thought leaders or events to stay connected and view updates. I’ve used Twitter to share EdTech tips, participate in Twitter chats, and learn from fellow educators. It’s an investment in your time that will definitely pay off. You’ll gather ideas to bring back to your school and classroom!
