Transform G Suite for Education Learning Experiences with Hāpara

Do you use Google tools in your classroom? I love all things Google. From Sheets to Docs to Slides, I spend a lot of time bouncing around between Google tools throughout the day. G Suite for Education offers so many options for teachers and students.

If you’re a regular reader of the blog, you know that Google-themed resources are ones I love to share. So I’m always on the lookout for tools that help make the most of these powerful teaching and learning tools. In today’s blog post, I have a resource to share with you that helps make the most of all things Google. It’s called Hāpara, and it can transform the way you create G Suite for Education learning experiences for your students.

Simplifying Teacher and Student Workflow

Hāpara is a collection of tools that integrates with Google’s G Suite for Education. These tools are designed to help strengthen instruction in all content areas. They fall into four main categories: the Student Dashboard, the Teacher Dashboard, Highlights, and Workspace.

With the Teacher Dashboard, you can get a closer look at what students are doing inside G Suite for Education. It increases your visibility, so you have a clearer picture of what is happening in your classroom’s digital spaces. This higher-level view of what students are working on can also help you zoom in to take a closer look. The Teacher Dashboard can make it easier to give consistent, timely feedback to students.

Supporting Students in G Suite for Education

Hāpara Highlights gives you access to various data points. It helps you see what students are working on in real-time. With this information, you might decide to pull a small group of students together to review a strategy or check in with an individual student. You can even set up automations to support differentiation as you respond to each student’s specific needs in your classroom.

The Workspace inside of Hāpara brings together all of your favorite tools that complement student learning experiences inside Google’s G Suite for Education. These complementary tools include Edpuzzle, Kahoot, Seesaw, and more. Within the Workspace, you can organize activities for your whole group of students or differentiate them based on your class’s needs. You can think of the Workspace as a “home base” for favorite learning apps.

Both teachers and students can access the Workspace. Teachers can use it to keep learning activities organized and ready to push out to select students. Your class can use Workspace to access the activities you’ve handpicked for them. So instead of sending students off to another website or app, everything is pulled together in one spot for them. You can even create lessons, activities, projects or evens whole units in Workspaces.

Streamline Student Learning Experience

With Hāpara, students have access to a personalized learning experience. In addition to the Teacher Dashboard, students have a special space to access learning materials and assignments from their teacher, too. This space is called the Student Dashboard. When students log in, all of their materials will appear — including Google Classroom materials, Google tools like Docs and Drive, and their Hāpara Workspace.

One thing I’ve heard from teachers this year during remote learning — and in past years when visiting classrooms — is how challenging it can be for students to navigate multiple digital spaces throughout the school year. Hāpara pulls everything they’ll need together in one place. It can help students build independence and digital citizenship skills as they take more ownership of their learning. You can set up automated reminders for your students and help them build executive functioning skills as you tackle academic content at the same time.

Having one spot for students to go can help streamline the digital experiences learners of all ages have throughout the school day. Ready to get started? Learn more about how Hāpara + Google can transform learning on this special landing page!
