Have you heard? The Apple Teacher program is now available in more countries! Last year I shared some of the reasons why I’m so excited about the new Apple Teacher program. Introduced in the second half of 2016, Apple Teacher is a badging program designed for educators. Teachers can use the fantastic support materials developed by Apple Education to master iPad and Mac tools like Pages, Keynote and GarageBand. After earning badges for each tool you will earn the Apple Teacher certification.
As an Apple Distinguished Educator it has been so exciting to see the Apple Teacher program embraced around the world. Not only have I watched as educators share their stories with the #AppleTeacher hashtag on Twitter, there have also been plenty of posts pop up on my Facebook newsfeed with fellow educators celebrating when they’ve earned their Apple Teacher badges.
Expansion of Apple Teacher Program
When the Apple Teacher program was first announced it was only available in the United States. But now, educators from around the world can become Apple Teachers. The program is now open to educators in more locations. It includes the following spots:
- United States
- United Kingdom
- Netherlands
- Ireland
- Sweden
- Denmark
- Hong Kong
- Mexico
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Singapore
If you are teaching in one of these places, you can start earning your Apple Teacher badges today.
I’ve shared the Apple Teacher program a couple times on my website including this post which provides an overview of the program. You can also find information on my site about the 16 totally free starter guides Apple Education has designed to help teachers master tools like iMovie and Numbers. In addition to these two posts I also shared a few reasons why I’m super excited about the Apple Teacher program in an article for Edutopia a few months ago.
if you’ve earned your Apple Teacher badges make sure to share your story using the hashtag #AppleTeacher!
