Introduction to DNA with a Playful Puzzle Tablet App

October 23, 2015

DNA Play is a fantastic app from the folks at Avokiddo.  I love the idea of introducing students to basic concepts with an introduction to DNA through a simple and playful game.  This DNA app will help kids will learn how to build creatures by completing a series of DNA puzzles. They can get creative and experiment with crazy mutations of different body parts by altering genes.

Introduction to DNA App

Introduction to DNA with a Playful Puzzle Tablet AppAs students change each monster’s form in real-time they’ll watch them dance, skate, eat or sleep on their screen.  Kids start with a basic unformed figure and complete the gene puzzles to give it a fully grown torso, face and limbs. Your students can then tweak the genes or simply tap on the creature’s body parts to trigger mutations.

DNA Play lets students build up to 200 billion creatures.  Kids can save their creatures along with snapshots stamped with their DNA code.  Teachers and parents will appreciate the extra section of basic info on DNA along with an illustrated tutorial.

Check out DNA Play on the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Amazon Store!
