Taming the Wild Text Summer Book Club

Ready to explore the five habits of today’s readers? Are you committed to finding a balance between traditional and print reading materials? This summer Pam Allyn and I are hosting a summer book club for teachers who are ready to tame the wild text! We’re very excited to invite you to participate in a special summer book club where we’ll explore Taming the Wild Text: Literacy Strategies for Today’s Readers, our book on reading in a digital world.

Free Summer Book Club

Would you like to join the Summer Book Club? Here are the details:

You can work at your own pace during the summer. There will be five questions posted throughout June and July. Anyone who joins the book club will have access to a special Flipgrid page where you can respond to the questions by recording video reflections right from Flipgrid’s website or using their mobile app. In August, we’ll host a live Google Hangout to share a few more favorite reading strategies and answer your questions!

The book club is free to join, all you have to do is show proof of purchase of Taming the Wild Text: Literacy Strategies for Today’s Readers. You might have a receipt from Amazon (print version) or Teacher Created Materials (print or ebook version) if you ordered a copy of the book online. What if you already have a copy of Taming the Wild Text sitting on your desk right now? Just send us a picture to show you bought a copy of the book earlier this school year.

Join the Book Club

To join the book club:

  • Purchase a copy of the book on Amazon (print version) or Teacher Created Materials (print or ebook version)
  • Forward your receipt of the book (or a picture of the book sitting on your desk) to bria@classtechtips.com

As soon as you send your proof of purchase, we’ll send you:

  1. Special welcome message video!
  2. Instant download ebook “Top Ten Must-Have Reading Tools”

When we kick off the book club on June 1st, we’ll send you:

  • Five book club questions with target dates to help you pace your reading
  • Link to the Flipgrid page where you’ll respond to the book club questions
  • A “save the date” for our live Google Hangout

Even if you join after June 1st – we are still accepting new folks until July 31, 2018.
