Cloud QR Image, Video and Audio QR Code Creator

If you’re a regular follower of ClassTechTips.com you know how much I love QR codes. Cloud QR is an app that makes it simple to create QR codes from images, sounds and video. With Cloud QR, users can create QR codes that link to a website as well as other types of media. Instead of following lots of steps to get your desired outcome, Cloud QR makes the process of connecting media to a QR code easier than ever.

Looking to create a QR code to connect students to an image? Cloud QR lets users pick an image from the image library on their device, Cloud QR uploads it to a server, and creates a QR code from the link. It just takes a few seconds and two clicks to go from an image on your tablet or smartphone to a QR code that is ready for students to scan. This means you can connect students to something like (1) a picture of steps in a science experiment or (2) a snapshot of a primary source document all with a simple scan.

In addition to connecting images to QR codes, Cloud QR lets you use the built-in microphone on your tablet or smartphone to record audio and narrate images. When scanned, the student can see the image and hear the narration you recorded. You can also pick a video from your device and Cloud QR uploads it to your own YouTube account (as an unlisted video) and creates a QR code from the link. When you share the QR code with students they only see the the video, without leaving Cloud QR.
The YouTube playlist below gives lots of tips for getting started with Cloud QR.

Since Cloud QR is a popular app in schools they’ve removed extra distractions so links to YouTube, Vimeo and other video sites only shows the embedded video, without the related clips or social features you usually see pop up on the screen. When you use Cloud QR to link to an image it only shows the image and links to audio only shows a Play button. If you take advantage of the plain text option, students can also have text read aloud using the speech synthesizer.

Cloud QR is available for iOS (iPad & iPhone) and Android and there are no advertisements or in-app purchases once you download the app. Learn more by visiting Cloud QR’s website!
