VIRRY’s Animal Web Cam App: Teach Empathy & Life Skills

Forget about cartoon animals – the VIRRY animal web cam app brings real live animals to your iPad screen. VIRRY combines high definition live and pre-recorded video to help spark students’ curiosity in wild animals. I love how this app is super interactive while incorporating information about different animals and habitats. VIRRY was created with child development experts to build a connection between children and endangered animals. One of the goals of this app is to teach important life skills – developing empathy and perspective taking.

Animal Web Cam App

How can you use VIRRY’s animal web cam app in your classroom? Teachers who use VIRRY will find content updated daily including highlights from each animal enclosure. This app provides a selection of interactive games and also pre-recorded videos to inspire kids.

A variety of animals to explore including caribous, cheetahs, dolphins, and collared lizards. The content in VIRRY can connect to lessons on ecosystems and environmental stewardship or provide background knowledge before reading a piece of informational text or literature. It is also a powerful tool to teach empathy and life skills as you introduce students to a range of species. VIRRY letskids virtually feed animals within the app and learn how individual species are different from each other.
