It’s so important for students to demonstrate their understanding of a concept and screencasting is a wonderful alternative assessment. Have students take screenshots in an app like Geoboard – they can create different shapes and snap pictures of their work. Then students can import these pictures into Educreations (they’ll be automatically saved to the iPad Camera roll). Using the record and narrate features in Educreations, your students can explain what type of shape they made and list its properties. It’s a great way to hold students accountable for explaining their thinking and can even be used in a digital portfolio.
