Presidents vs. Aliens

Stack the States is one of my favorite iPad geography games and Presidents vs. Aliens is a fun app that teaches facts and trivia about the presidents of the United States. It’s interactive and informative and a great way to use transition times between subject areas, as a behavior management incentive, or to kick off a unit on United States History.

Check out my Common Core aligned iPad lesson plan using this app in the classroom!

I work with schools all across the country and every one of them is using an Ipad in the classroom to enhance teaching. One of the things that they have ALL told me is how excited they are about how many FREE and Low cost Apps there are.
Another App that we have found that works awesome with programs like Doceri is Prezi.

Keep the tips coming I love sharing your site with schools so that they have a great resource to find new APPS.

    - Thanks Again

    Matt

My two boys (ages 7 and 11) love Presidents vs Aliens and memorized all of the U.S. Presidents in sequential order after playing the game for two weeks. After learning the presidents’ nicknames and other trivia, I took my boys to the library where they checked out and read several books on the presidents. I have really enjoyed seeing the boys share what they have learned with our friends and extended family. As a home school dad, I highly recommend Presidents vs Aliens.
